My half of a trade with the incomparable Ellygator! She drew me a fabulous picture of me/my alter ego and the Vampire Lestat.

I had planned to do a Leo-themed pendant, which just took off from there until it included no only her Sun-sign, but her Ascendant and Moon sign as well! This was my first major project using Peyote stitch (which I learned from her tutorial), and also gave me a chance to indulge at the new bead store in Coeur d’Alene, a mere hour and a half away!

Aside from giving me something to keep my mind off of my then-future oral surgery, it really gave me a great opportunity to get the hang of Peyote. However there has to be an easier way to decrease the rows to make triangles... I had to stitch way down through the piece until I could double back. I have got to be missing something here. Help?
