Well, the most important bit of news is very happy! The wonderful has made me a present of a real live DeviantArt subscription!!! (The only condition is that I make more traditional art, which I am quite happy to do!) So as soon as my head stops reeling, you will be seeing a ridiculous amount of journal fancifying and featuring. I have been collecting stamps on DA for a while, and now I can use them! I also have been taking the opportunity to make some of my own, and the best of the bunch will be published shortly.

Secondly, I am soon to be the proud owner of a laptop with wireless capability, so whenever I get the chance to go into town anywhere near a hotspot, I will be taking advantage of it! This is a big deal, as up till now I have had to abuse my friend privileges to use a pal’s computer for internet. It will take me ages to get caught up on my massive backlog of unseen deviations (350 at last count), but I will really enjoy it!! (The subscription has already helped with that by making all user features so much easier!) The one uncertainty at this point is whether a deal for a new laptop will pan out, or whether I will be pulling tricks on my old one to empty the hard drive and make it wireless-capable. This should be decided and accomplished within a month or so...

Just to keep me on track, I’ve made a list of all the things I want to do on DA with my expanded internet access and speed:

View all my backlogged watched deviations and journals
Organize my gallery into this here ‘collection’ thingy.
Feature other artists in my journal
Learn how to use Journal backgrounds and fonts
Apply stamps to my Journal
Become active in forums
Start entering art contests
Perhaps make a contest of my own
Finally add other wonderful artists/friends to my watched list (and actually VIEW their deviations)
Draw more pictures and publish them regularly
Engage in more art trades, and hopefully expand into paid commissions

I am putting myself on open status for commissions and swaps, and I’ll keep this status updated as slots get filled. I am looking to trade for several items in these categories: Plushies, OOAK dolls, My Little Ponies, some jewelry, and other miscellaneous items. And in return, I can create custom beaded jewelry— some of the things I do best are astrological/occult signs combined with crystal therapy, and symbols of people’s original concept logos.
